The BBQ that challenges Sharon

Hey everyone!

Here’s a huge huge thank you to the organisers of the BBQ in NTU on Saturday!

I had a great time hanging out with all the funky AIESECers that day, and the BBQ left an impact too as it was the first time I ever had BBQed garlic bread (It always used to be just chicken and more chicken). So thanks for “Challenging my World View” on BBQ!

Anyway, I do look forward to more initiatives like this in the months to come! Informal events like these are wonderful ways of engaging everyone too!

cheers,
Sharon

Be strong Indonesia

Our deepest condolences go to the Indonesia earthquake victims.

May you all be strong to go through the pain and 'rain'.

Let's pray to God for the good...

BBQ and Hi-Tea ala @SIPO

BBQ at NTU Hall 1, 28 May 2006. Started at 8.15pm.

Almost 30 people. 10 nationalities. 4 packs of chicken wings. 6 packs of fishballs. 10 packs of sausages. 4 loaves of bread and a bottle of garlic spread. 1 pack of marshmallow. Cans of Tiger beers. Corns included

The chicken were marinated an hour before

The cooks of the night were Sharon Tan and Papa Joon *yeay*

It was a total funtime that added another layer of fats but priceless memory and joy.
So, in a week, I just added three layers of fats but created a livelier life. Thanks for coming all!!
*It's slightly dark as my mobile phone does not come with flash function.

Today, Sunday, after a 5 hour transition meeting, some of us [who were unwilling to go home and rest] decided to go for a Hi-tea session. Zafirah here was seen enjoying her cuppa Kopi and waffle *slurppp....

@SIPO definition of Hi-tea:
Kaya toast, half-boiled egg and Kopi.

This is a MUST try in Singapore.

In the end, after spending 5-hour at Marina Square, a Hi-Tea, a dinner, and lotsa stories and jokes, it was time to go home. ZzzZ...

One reason why I like Singapore

I like the Esplanade link where artistic and creative artwork are being displayed.
Just can't get enough of it.
The pictures below were taken after our MC transition meeting at Makan Sutra, an eatery by the bay. Now I have collections of 'creative' pictures on my mobile *kewl..

Are we caged? *trink....think hard

Are we creative enough?
*Sighing is not good for health

The @ whisperers... *shoo...shoo...

Do you make your own choice or do you let people direct you?
Shall we stay and wait or shall we move on and explore?

Inspiration is all it takes.... for everything else, there is VISA!

Greetings from New Jersey

Hi guys, here I am in Wildwood, New Jersey, right by the beach! This place is AWESOME! Never knew that America can be this big. Let's see, I've arrived here safely after a 21 hour of flight, which took me really off my balance and I went a little sick on my journey, guessing that 21 hours were quite tough indeed. And guess what, I met Sharon Adelina on my wait in Changi Airport! She's on her flight to France! Haha, we really meet AIESECers everywhere!!!

The first thing I see when I step out of the airport in New Jersey is the 6-door limo! And it seems that these limos are everywhere in America! Goodness! I thought I would really see them only in movies.

On my third day in America, I've already started work, and it's cool to be working here! People are nice and open. I met all sorts of American customers and of course lots of hot girls on the beach!!! Jing Wen, this must be your favourite place, ya! LOL

I'm now working as a games operator, waiting for customers to come to my stall and poke the balloons! And I'm having hundreds of balloons bursting in front of me everyday! But it's fun to be working at a theme park and as employees, we get to go on the rides for free! It's cool!

If you ask me what I'm eating everyday, there's only pizzas, burgers of fries here! It's really funny, we can't find any other food other than the three mentioned above!!! I wonder how my body is going to take all the calories!

So that's all for this time round, dudes! Catch me again next time!

The invasion of @NTU room

Welcome back to @NTU news. Our headline for today is the invasion of @NTU room this morning. Three @ers were found sneaking into @NTU room and messing around. Our cameraman managed to capture their faces, and our reporter later found that these three people were Alvin, Zami and Diana. They are facing a serious charge for invading @NTU room.
Let's see what our cameraman got!
Before the invasion... LOOK at those piles of stuffs in our @ room.

Ck..ck..ck.. Zami wanted to 'nail' Alvin due to the high-level of stress he got when he saw the 'stuffs' that we need to mess with.
Alvin..hanging there!!!

and they threw the we-don't-want-you-in-@ room-anymore coz you're-making-it-difficult-for-us-to-do-our-business stuffs to the 1st level...
Gues who was there to clear it?

Nanyang House was invaded by a blue-black witch on a spooky broom.
and
he invited HIS FRIENDS along...

Santa just stole a printer.."Oosshh, yes yes I just got the printer. I am going to your place!!" ROGER...
and the 'chambermaid' posed wearing a Japanese yukata...
Ouch Spring is so near!!

After the invasion...whaddyatink?
@NTU room definitely lost heaps of 'stuffs'.
Please sms to 1111 if you need such service.
Ah..this time round another invader joined us: Made Adi.

The view from @NTU room. So tranquil that we had a great time singing The Corrs' songs, playing unfinished chess, blabbering, dressing the master chair to a sexy one..
..before we escaped.

And hooraayy...this is what we managed to 'mess' with haha...
Bye bye bye..

Thanks alot to the actors above, without you guys the invasion wouldn't be as fun and as successful. YOU RAWKZ!!

ps: I especially like the @ around the world cupboard where souveniers from other countries are displayed NICELY *plok..plok..* and there is a space for @library for cool printed materials.

Saturday fever..

Today was our very first MC team to team transition. Held at NUS Yusof Ishak building, we were there since morning 9.30am. Ranging from @history, @XP, @branding to our @International... it was really a great time to brush up and know more about @ as a whole.

So..let's peek into what we had. Of course pictures were taken during break *hoho*

Guess: What did Imran and Shin do? How many laptops were there? What we were looking so seriously at?

The cool thing is that we managed to finish our agenda about 2 hours in advance *woo hoo, a record has been set*. Therefore, there we were...the 5 musketeers went to Singapore River while waiting for the Welcome Dinner session at 7.30pm. We chatted, sang and composed songs, posed creatively *sheepish*. Basically...it's a fun time and I enjoyed it. Maybe we shall do this more often *after meeting certainly ^.*

Getting to know the other side of our Musketeers. Oh la la..we have lotsa 'models' in @.

And the long awaited...Welcome dinner for our trainees in Singapore:
Graeme Low from Canada
David Lim from Canada
Timothy from Kenya
Catherine from The U.S.
Patrick from Canada

WELCOME TO SINGAPORE GUYS!!
*drum rolls...*

Yosh...additional two layers of fats but triple happiness hehe

Aw..we're in nomadlife

So happy that we finally got our nomadlife customized-blog.

A quick check at dictionary.com stated that a 'nomad' is:
1. A member of a group of people who have no fixed home and move according to the seasons from place to place in search of food, water, and grazing land.
2. A person with no fixed residence who roams about; a wanderer.

Ponder deeper and maybe we'll find the reasons why many @ers relate to nomadlife so well.

1. @ers travel around, and thus the WORLD is our HOME.
2. We move according to the seasons. We attend conferences all over the world, and these happen during four seasons in a year.
3. We search for knowledge, experience, life purpose, leaders and success. We are striving for peace and fulfillment of humankind's potential. Aren't we?
4. Being a wanderer makes us independent, reliable, adaptable, flexible, accountable, brave, responsible, pro-active and ready to challenge and be challenged in return. We are the change agents.

Meanwhile, we are elated to present the very FIRST LC blog from @Singapore: @NTU Local Committee *yippee yeah*.

More stories, sharing, laughters, pics coming in....STAY TUNE!!
